Are you or someone you know a follower of the likes of Joel Osteen, Kenneth Hagin, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Benny Hinn, or T. D. Jakes etc? This film takes a responsible look at the major doctrines which separate this movement from historic biblical Christianity. Its origins and errors are documented with evidence and fact. - Dr. Jim West

The split between Judaism and Christianity!
The split between Judaism and Christianity did not come about simply or quickly. It was a complex process which took some one hundred years, starting from the crucifixion, and which had different causes and effects depending on whether it is looked at from the point of view of Judaism or Christianity. Further, the question of legal status as seen through Roman eyes also had some relationship to the issue.

A Secularizing America?
A new Pew Research Center study of America's evolving religious demographic asserts that nearly 20 percent of Americans are now religiously unaffiliated, while historically dominant Protestants are now under 50 percent. The headlines have understandably cited the study as proof of America's secularization.

Free indeed!
As a Christian you are not only free in Jesus but, in solidarity with all other people, you are also in yourself, in the flesh. And to the extent that you are in the flesh and not in the spirit you are “dead in sins” (Colossians 2:13; Ephesians 2:1). You are not just half-dead, or apparently dead. So, in this life, you are engaged in the conflict of the Spirit against the flesh, but also of the flesh against the Spirit, and in the last resort you will not refuse to confess with the apostle Paul “that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing” (Romans 7:18). Conflict does not mean peaceful co-existence, let alone some kind of co-operation! There is no co-operation between the two! For how can there be co-operation between total freedom and total bondage? How can the Spirit give assistance to the flesh, or the flesh to the Spirit? So count yourself dead to the flesh but alive to the Spirit (Rom. 6:11)

the sonship of believers (Barth)
Obviously the New Testament concept of divine sonship cannot compete in any sense with that of the divine sonship of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, it is absolutely dependent on this. The fathers made the distinction that Jesus Christ is Filius Dei natura while believers are filii Dei adoptione. They can be this adoptione because Jesus Christ is so natura. The constant indicatives underline what the New Testament says of believers, that they are (Rom. 8:14), we are (Rom. 8:16), we are called and are (1 Jn. 3:1), we are now (1 Jn. 3:2), you are (Gal. 4:6), and even you all are (Gal. 3:26) sons or children of God.
In a decisive passage Paul mentions only one thing in which everything is obviously included for him, v. 15, Gal. 4:6. Remarkably, and certainly not by accident, this is the same cry as the Gospel narrative (Mk. 14:36) puts on the lips of Jesus when He is at prayer in Gethsemane. So then, in this form, the Son of God is the prototype of the sonship of believers.

The Hope of all!
LUKE 19:1–10
Jesus Christ is the hope of all men, and therefore also of non-Christians, of the heathen, of the theoretically or practically ungodly. How could we limit the positive sign of life in the midst of the times to Christians? The main concern of the ongoing of the history of the prophecy of Jesus Christ which fills our time is with non-Christians. Their existence is a reminder of the darkness which resists it. It is for their sake that it must go forward, that Jesus Christ as the living Word of God is still on the way to-day. Their conversion from ignorance to knowledge, from unbelief to faith, from bondage to freedom, from night to day, is the goal of His prophetic work so far as it has a temporal goal. He wills to seek and to save those who are lost, who without Him, without the light of life, without the Word of the covenant, will necessarily perish, v. 10. He is for them specifically this light, this Word. He is their hope … Christians have many reasons to see this. In days past were they not themselves non-Christians, or sleeping and even dead Christians, and therefore in fact and at bottom non-Christians? Is it not the case that they were not for Him as He was for them? Have they not every cause to be grateful that in spite of this, without their response of love, even when they were enemies (Rom 5:10), He was for them, their hope, and the Holy Spirit was obviously promised to them in this way? (IV, 3, p. 364 f. The Promise of the Spirit.)

One Mediator!
Or John the Theologian says it like this: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. . . . Jesus answered them, 'Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.' The Jews then said, 'It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?' But he was speaking about the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken." (John 1.14; 2.19-22)
And Thomas Torrance said it like this: "Jesus Christ is the place where God and man meet in space and time! In order to express this more positively, let us turn back to the incarnation for a moment. Jesus Christ, the man Jesus, is the place in this physical world of space and time where God and man meet and where they have communion with one another. The temple in the Old Testament was the place where God has put his name, where he kept tryst [sic] with his covenanted people and where they kept covenant with him. Jesus Christ is that temple of God on earth and among mankind where God has put his name, and where he has appointed us to meet him. It is the place where heaven and earth meet, the place of reconciliation within our historical existence in flesh and blood. Jesus Christ is himself among us God’s mercy-seat, God’s place in the world where he is really present to us in our place." (Thomas F. Torrance, “Atonement,” 287)

Barth on Father!
No human father, but God alone, is properly, truly and primarily Father. No human father is the creator of his child, the controller of its destiny, or its saviour from sin, guilt and death. No human father is by his word the source of its temporal and eternal life. In this proper, true and primary sense God - and He alone - is Father. He is so as the Father of mercy, as the Father of His Son, of the Lord Jesus Christ … God is the Father of whom the whole family, or all fatherhood, in heaven and on earth is named (Isa. 63:16; Matt. 23:9; Isa. 49:15; Psa. 27:10). (III, 4, p. 245. Parents and Children.)

Simplicity of Barth’s faith
The simplicity of Barth’s faith is beautifully illustrated in an incident described by J. M. Boice:
“Several years before his death the Swiss theologian Karl Barth came to the United States for a series of lectures. At one of these, after a very impressive lecture, a student asked a typically American question. He said, ‘Dr. Barth
, what is the greatest thought that has ever passed through your mind?’ The aging professor paused for a long time as he obviously thought about his answer. Then he said with great simplicity:‘Jesus loves me! This I know. For the Bible tells me so’ ” - Foundations of the Christian Faith.

Confound it!
In keeping with the presumed folly of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God has chosen the so-called foolish ones of the world to confound the wisdom of the wise, the weak to confound the strong, the trivial and contemptible, the things that are not to bring to nothing those that are, in order that it may be manifest that no flesh can glory in His presence (1 Corinthians 1.18, 26–29).

Sharia reasoning about jihad!
In his excellent book, "Arguing the Just War in Islam", John Kelsay bluntly states, “Those who wish to argue that Islam has nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11 or with the tactics of Iraqi ‘insurgents’ will find no comfort here.” Indeed, the “facts are plain” that the militants in question identify themselves as Muslim and use Sharia reasoning about jihad to justify their actions. Unless one is willing to ignore the statements of the militants themselves, one cannot deny the central role of Sharia reasoning in the acts of violent Muslim extremists.

Ooh I need them playing in the Heavy Church
If you judge the way they’re living
Try to see the truth they’re giving

Mercy, mercy on love defenders

Hebrews 11.6: Faith’s Object!
The Christian life is characterized by faith. For, without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11.6). The emphatic generalization (11.6) that faith is pleasing to God who rewards the seeker, corresponds with the two elements in the description of faith given in Hebrews 11.1. Anyone who comes to (lit. ‘draws near to’, as in Hebrews 4:16; 7:25; 10:22; 12:22) God must believe that he exists (be certain of what is not seen) and believe that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (trust that his promises will be fulfilled).

Dead to sin!
Unlike the followers of other religions, Christians are believers who as concerns the “old man,” the “body of sin,” are crucified with Christ. They are dead to sin in Him. They have no future as sinners, because they have no possibility of existence as such (Romans 6.2-10; 2 Cor. 5:17). Thus reduced to nullity, dead with Christ, they may also live with Christ, live to God.

Thy will be done!
To believe the unsaved possesses a volitional will to assent to the truth of the Scriptures, is to assume one can believe without any initiative by God. But the Scriptures are clear, in that the unsaved:
- is deceitful and desperately sick (Jer. 17:9).
- is full of evil (Mark 7:21-23).
- loves darkness rather than light (John 3:19).
- is unrighteous, does not understand, does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12).
- is helpless and ungodly (Rom. 5:6).
- is dead in his trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1).
- is by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3).
- cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14).
- is a slave of sin (Romans 6:16-20).
We are not “born again” as a result of something we have done, but solely on the basis of God’s sovereign will and power.

Anders Breivik’s god! (pictured)
Below are some excerpts from Anders Breivik’s Manifesto entitled "2083 - A European Declaration of Independence." (1500 page web document)
"A majority of so called agnostics and atheists in Europe are cultural conservative Christians without even knowing it," he wrote.
"If you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God then you are a religious Christian. Myself and many more like me do not necessarily have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God. We do however believe in Christianity as a cultural, social, identity and moral platform. This makes us Christian," he wrote.
What is a Christian? Many think they are Christians because they claim to believe in the cultural Jesus. But, believing in Jesus often means nothing, or anything you want it to mean, particularly here in the case of Anders Breivik. But it doesn't change the true meaning of what it means to be a follower of Christ. So, what does it mean to be a Christian?
First of all, to be a Christian, you must first know who Jesus Christ is. Biblically, He is God in flesh, second person of the Trinity (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9). He is the great "I AM" (Exodus 3:14; John 8:58). He is the savior who was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), who died, was buried, and rose from the dead (1 Cor. 15:1-4), physically (John 2:19-21). He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Only by the name of Jesus may a person be saved (Acts 4:12) and all who do not trust in Him alone for the forgiveness of their sins will be judged (Matt. 25:41) accordingly. Jesus is both God and man (Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 2:5; Phil. 2:5-8). He is our eternal intercessor (Heb. 7:25) who mediates our salvation to the Father (1 Tim. 2:5). He is the creator of all things (Col. 1:16-17; Isaiah 44:24). He is Lord! To Him be the glory!
Once you know who Jesus is, you must trust Him to forgive you of your sins. Ask Him to forgive you. He will. Then, once you are saved, you are a Christian. It means you have found the true Savior, not a false one of the cults. It means you have been saved by God's grace, through faith (Eph. 2:8) and are now seeking to please Him in your life by following His commands (1 John 2:4). Such obedience does not save you nor contribute to your salvation. This obedience is motivated by love and thankfulness and is a response of being saved.
So, being a Christian means knowing the true Christ and following Him in truth.

Transfiguration mosaic!
Christ rises above the figures of Moses on the right, Elijah on the left, and John, Peter, and James below. Medallions surrounding the scene depict the other nine apostles and major and minor prophets of the OT. The prominence of Moses and Elijah, along with Peter, James, and John, suggests the mosaic takes its theme from Christ’s transfiguration (Matthew 17:1–8). The mosaic is in the apse of the Church of St. Catherine, Sinai, also built by Justinian in the sixth century.

Brotherly Love!
The word philadelphia is translated “brotherly love.” Because Christians belong to the same family, and have the same Father, they should love one another. In fact, we are “taught of God to love one another.” God the Father taught us to love each other when He gave Christ to die for us on the cross. “We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). God the Son taught us to love one another when He said, “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another” (John 13:34). And the Holy Spirit taught us to love one another when God poured out the love of God in our hearts (Romans 5:5) when we trusted Jesus Christ.

God’s revealed will is for your salvation!
Paul says that God "desires [or 'wills, wishes,' Gk. theleo] all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (I Timothy 2:4). Peter says that the Lord "is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). In neither of these verses can God's will be understood to be his secret will, his decree concerning what will certainly occur. This is because the New Testament is clear that there will be a final judgment and not all will be saved. It is best therefore to understand these references as speaking of God's revealed will, his commands for mankind to obey and his declaration to us of what is pleasing in his sight. - Wayne Grudem

Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is God! He is God at work in our lives. Everything God does is done through His Spirit. Paul therefore encourages us: "Let us keep in step with the Spirit.... Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God.... Do not put out the Spirit’s fire" (Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 5:19). As a Christian, you are to be attentive to what the Holy Spirit says. When he speaks, God is speaking.
Are you ready?
"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3.15). A limited readiness is no readiness at all in our dealings with Jesus (Luke 9.57b-62).

The Nature of Grace!
Grace is eternal (2 Tim. 1:9), immutable (Rom. 11:29), sovereign (Rom. 9:11-24), effectual (Eph. 2:8-9; John 6:37, 39, 44, 63-65), and destroys all room for human boasting (1 Cor. 1:29-31; 4:7). It means that the Triune God gets all the praise, honor, and glory for our salvation: The Father for planning it, the Son for purchasing it, and the Holy Spirit for applying and uniting us to it (Eph. 1:2-14).
Christ is not only efficient, but is alone sufficient for salvation (Hebrews 9:12; 10:10) such that our own merit or works righteousness can do nothing to either attain or maintain our justification. The assistance of grace does not even depend on the humility or obedience of man ... for it is a gift of grace itself that we are obedient and humble ...as the Apostle says, "What have you that you did not receive?" (1 Cor. 4:7), and, "But by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Cor. 15:10). Faith is, therefore, not a product of our un-regenerated human nature (John 1:13, 6:63-65; Rom 9:16) but is exercised as the infallible result of the work of the Holy Spirit opening our eyes and ears to the beauty of the gospel, turning our heart of stone to a heart of flesh and uniting us to Christ. - Monergism.com

The endless cycle…
The endless cycle of idea and action,
Endless invention, endless experiment,
Brings knowledge of motion, but not of stillness;
Knowledge of speech, but not of silence;
Knowledge of words, and ignorance of the Word.
All our knowledge brings us nearer to our ignorance,
All our ignorance brings us nearer to death,
But nearness to death no nearer to God.
Where is the Life we have lost in living?
Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?
Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?
The cycles of Heaven in twenty centuries
Bring us farther from God and nearer to the Dust.

What’s behind death?
Romans 7.13
It was not the Law that brought death into life. Rather sin used what is good (the Law) to carry out evil's terrible design. Even so. the outcome was that sin’s true nature was revealed. The Apostle is saying that one cannot see how evil sin is until one realizes that sin takes what is good, that is, a divine command, and uses this to bring death to humankind.
