Heavy Church! (3 Dog Night)

Light my way with incensed candles
Rug so soft beneath my sandals
I’ve never been in here before
Like to feel the glory

Mercy, mercy on love defenders
Have pity on the love pretenders
A little help for all life’s losers
A little truth for the mind abusers
Ooh I need them playing in the Heavy Church

If you judge the way they’re living
Try to see the truth they’re giving
They only want to touch your hand with understanding

Mercy, mercy on love defenders
Have pity on the love pretenders
A little help for all life’s losers
A little truth for the mind abusers
Ooh I need them playing in the Heavy Church

Hear them, hear them, hear them, hear them
Run and see the truth they’re giving you
Hear them, hear them
Run and see the truth they’re giving you

Hebrews 11.6: Faith’s Object!

The Christian life is characterized by faith. For, without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11.6). The emphatic generalization (11.6) that faith is pleasing to God who rewards the seeker, corresponds with the two elements in the description of faith given in Hebrews 11.1. Anyone who comes to (lit. ‘draws near to’, as in Hebrews 4:16; 7:25; 10:22; 12:22) God must believe that he exists (be certain of what is not seen) and believe that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (trust that his promises will be fulfilled).
