Romans 12:9 begins with the admonition "Love must be sincere..." “Sincere” here translates the Greek 'anypokritos' (lit., “without hypocrisy”), also used of love (2 Corinthians 6:6; 1 Peter 1:22), of faith (1 Timothy 1:5; 2 Timothy 1:5), and of wisdom (James 3:17). Surely,it is the sincere love of God that is shed abroad in the believers heart by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5) and, in turn, this love is ministered by them to others in the Holy Spirit’s power (see, 1 Corinthians 13).
